With the aim to explain the stakeholders related to education in Western Chitwan about the upcoming project entitled “Improving learning: Developing Measures of Accountability and Evaluating their Association with Students Gains in Achievement in Nepal” for their feedback and support during the data collection, an interaction program was held on 21 & 22 May, 2018. Altogether 120- principal and representatives of community and institutional school, Under Secretary, Chief of Education Department, Former Regional Director, Former District Education Officer, School inspector, Resource Person and other education related scholars- attended the meeting. The program was conducted in three groups (40 in each group), one on 21st and two on 22nd.
Dr. Dirgha Jibi Ghimire, Principal Investigator (PI) and Executive Director, ISER-N started with the brief introduction about the institute and then, presented about the status of different types of schools in Western Chitwan Valley based on the longitudinal “Chitwan Valley Family Study” data collected by the institute and finally, shared the project plan and detailed information on the upcoming proposed activities, highlighting on the importance of the study being conducted.
The presentation was followed by the discussion and feedback from the participants. There were queries related to the project activities which were answered by Dr. Ghimire, PI. The program was concluded with the positive feedback from the stakeholders who also agreed to support in full fledge during the data collection.
