Livelihoods SupportOptimizing Knowledge and Resources for Economic Independence
The livelihoods support programs aim to build partnerships with economically and socially disadvantaged and marginalized ethnic minorities to enable them to achieve sustainable livelihoods. The program strives to explore opportunities and to make institutional arrangements that disadvantaged sections of the community need for achieving sustainable and secure livelihoods. Specific programs include safe drinking water, irrigation, micro-enterprise development, agricultural technology, organic farming, vegetable and fruits farming, animal husbandry, and agro-ecotourism. ISER-N is committed to provide support to local people through extension of low cost, environment friendly appropriate technologies while incorporating existing local knowledge and skills. Employment-oriented trainings are at the center for local community capacity building, income generation, and empowerment.
