ISER-N in collaboration with institutions and universities in Nepal and abroad has collected a large number of longitudinal panel and cross-sectional data on various population dynamics of Chitwan and other districts.

ISER-N has collected a wide range of data on population health (psychological and physical health), environment, population dynamics and family change, and education. Moreover, most of the data are available for students, teachers and scholars in Nepal and throughout the world. The measurements themselves included survey data collection, ethnographic data collection, anthropometric and biomarker, mixed-method data collection, botanical counts, land use measures, and geographic information system data collection. The data are available at ISER-N office at Fulbari, Chitwan while one can electronically access them through the following link listed below.

 

1) Interuniversity Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR) at the University of Michigan (http://www.icpsr.umich.edu/cocoon/DSDR/STUDY/04538.xml.)

Since 2014, ICPSR reports 1,405 unique users downloaded data and/or documentation, placing the study among the top 10% (by number of users) of all studies with data available through ICPSR. In just the past 3 years, the study was downloaded by users affiliated with 34 different institutions. ICPSR also holds 10 different confidential data protection agreements with other universities for use of these data at Princeton, North Carolina-Chapel Hill, Brown, Pennsylvania, Michigan State, Mississippi State, San Diego State, Harvard University, the University of Washington and McGill University, Canada.

However, to protect respondent’s confidentiality, some of the data with potentially identifiable information have restricted access. Users interested in restricted data can directly contact ISER-N or ICPSR.
