Skill Development Workshops
ISER-N organizes the following skill development trainings on a regular basis.
1. Data Analysis Workshop
ISER-N, in collaboration with the University of Michigan and other affiliates, regularly organizes data analysis workshops to facilitate the use of data collected during the past several years. The purpose of these workshops is to provide knowledge of existing data resources and to develop skills to encourage the analysis of the data by local and national users.
Such workshops are alternatively organized both in Nepal and in the US as well. Participants of these workshops include both students and scholars here in Nepal and Nepali students and scholars working in the US.
These workshops are designed to introduce the complex data structures and provide hands-on experience using appropriate analytical tools such as the SAS and SPSS computer programs.
2. Scientific Paper Writing Workshop
Scientific paper writing workshops suitable for Bachelors and Masters level students who focus on social and environmental research are organized on a regular basis. Emphasis is given to the identification of relevant research questions, formulation of research hypotheses, identification and use of appropriate data analytical techniques, report writing, and publication of research findings in both national and international scientific journals.
3. Proposal Writing Workshop
Workshops on proposal writing are also organized to students and faculties, and local community members to help seek funding for research and development activities.
